How to make a handmade leather folio?

DIY simple and practical manual cowhide folio making tools and materials need to be prepared:

Leather edge oil, rubber gloves, cutting board, rubber hammer, hand sewing needle, mercury pen & cleaning pen, ruler, spacing gauge, groover, edge trimmer, leather cutter, diamond cut, wax thread, plant tanning leather.

Manual cowhide folio production steps:
The first. Simple sketch, or want to do simple. It has always been believed that simple can better reflect the beautiful leather and exquisite handwork.
The second. Selection of leather: imported vegetable tanned leather, 1.5mm thick, good quality.
The third. Consider the proportion of each part, do the first version.
The fourth. Turn the formal version, typeset, rough cut.
The fifth. Because this folio will be used for more formal occasions, so choose black, to show gravitas.
The sixth. Using a trencher, cut out a thin groove in the leather, which will be sewed in the future.
The seventh. With the edger, cut the leather edge into a small bevel at a 45 degree Angle. In this way, the leather edge will be smooth and full after polishing.
The eighth. To bend the position, use the groover to open a U-shaped groove, and the folded leather will have a beautiful curve.
The ninth. What you can't see on the outside is the real inner quality. In the folding position of the bag lid, do enough work to make the lid have a nice arc when closed; It has a comfortable elasticity and feel when it is opened, and after digging, it is thinned with a small plane to repeatedly try out the ideal thickness.
The tenth. On the back side of the position to be stitched, use a thinner to trim the skin edge, and it will be smooth after stitching.
The eleventh. This is a very important step. Punch holes. Whether the thread can be sewn beautifully is related to the quality of the punch.
The twelfth. State before stitching: After dyeing, solid color is done, and the meat surface is treated with CMC to make the inside smooth and flat.
The thirteenth. After that, a layer of wax emulsion is applied, mainly to protect the skin during the production process.
The fourteenth. Finally starting to sew. With white pure hemp wax line: first, want to add some stylized feeling in the solemn; Second, the decorative sense of this style stitch is strong, and it should be highlighted.
The fifteenth. It's time to treat the edges - sand them repeatedly with different sandpaper sizes until the edges are smooth and even.
The sixteenth. Epithelial edge oil. Black matte oil was used. It's a delicate job. You can't rush it.
After that, sand and polish with the two tools shown in the picture. A handmade leather folio is done.
